Land without shadows
Elle est retrouvée.
Quoi ? – L’Eternité.
C’est la mer allée
Avec le soleil.
Arthur Rimbaud
The photographs were taken in Coney Island, New York, in 2007.
I was mezmorized by that place and its energy.
The diversity of the people and the cultures there was fascinating to me.
It is quite typical for the New York City, however there, on the beach board,
it became on the surface, isolated from the distractions of the big city.
To me, it presented people in the simple way, still and unpretentious.
It revealed how similar we are in our needs, in our moments of joy and loneliness.
The title comes from the original name of Coney Island given by the Native Americans.
The prints are 5×7 inch gelatin silver .
